Title: Is arctan() useful for making Role Playing Games also making money question
Post by: Fira on September 02, 2012, 02:14:31 AM
Is arctan() ever useful for making
RPGs (Role Playing Games) with Game Maker Lite Edition?

The only one I know of is Super Mario Bros. Infinity which used to work but now when you download
Super Mario Bros. Infinity files from http://sandbox.yoyogames.com/
you get an almost unplayable game files.

The make of Super Mario Bros. Infinity (SMBI) used to have in SMBI where you could click on Donate button or whatever to be able to donate.

That is the only one I know of. - Jason and I am new here btw (by the way).

Hi Jason, I'm Circuit.  I'm sorry to tell you this, but you're in the wrong place.  This message board is for Al Staffieri's GameMaker, which is a different GameMaker than the one you're using.

But to answer your question: I don't know much about arctangents, but I know that arctangents are a part of trigonometry, and trigonometry is used to program physics.  If you want to program an action-RPG, then arctan() is definitely useful.  But if you want to program a turn-based RPG, then I don't think you'll have any use for arctan().

Wrong gamemaker, yes. But if you DO have a mac, we invite you to use Silver Creator, and become an active member. Because we have so few....

I'm not clear what the money question was, since I see no question mark. What's all this about donations?
